Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Poulan/Craftman Chainsaw Piston, snap ring pliers, chainsaw piston
Questionjohn,
I have a 13 month old saw that the crankshaft has broken at the clutch. I have a new crank and connecting rod. Is there a special tool to remove the piston pin and clips from the connecting rod? The piston and cyl are in good shape with no scorning, been running 50:1 which seems to help with the poulan piston problems.
AnswerHello Steve:
>>You can Use an Ice Pick or a Small Pocket Screw Driver to Pop Out the C-Clips that Hold the Wrist Pin (Piston Pin) in Place.
>>If the Wrist Pin Clips have the Small Ears to make Removal Easier, then an Offset Snap Ring Pliers will Compress the Clip for Removal.
>>If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Happy. Thanks.
Good Luck
