Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Electronic Ignition Converter, code numbers, electronic ignition

Hey John,
 I want to install an electronic ignition converter on a 3 hp B&S so i don't have to pull the flywheel off. Where exactly will this converter go on the engine? Model 80302 Type 0015-01

It depends on which kit you have.  The Briggs kit fits in between the
leg of the coil itself, if it is an aftermarket module, it can be mounted anywhere.  What are the code numbers of this engine?

   If you get the newer style coil to fit the engine, you just cut the wire to the points, bolt it on and go, a local shop may have a good used one cheap as well.
