THE PLASTIC TEETH INSIDE THE ROPE PULL MECHANISM ARE BROKEN.

I did a Google search and came up with very little.

Where did you buy this from?  I would definitely be talking to this store outlet.

The world now is flooded by equipment that is "bootleg", your gen/engine might be a replica of a Honda or Briggs, or Coleman, etc.

Most likely, it is a Honda ripoff, and those starters can be found easily.  I am new to this "Expert" site, so I do not know if we can post pics, but if you could find something online, with a pic of the engine, we might have more to go on.  Let me know...
