QuestionI replaced the clutch last summer. Immediately thereafter, I noticed a lot of
smoke coming from the exhaust. I stopped mowing about 3 months ago.
When I tried starting up, the engine froze up. I turned it with a breaker bar
and added oil. Oil started coming out of the oil filter. The gasket is OK and
the filter very hand tight but oil is pouring out. When I add oil, it burps up
the fill line therefore overfilling. I get the impression the oil pressure is too
high. Any thoughts on repair? Thank you.
AnswerI get the impression you smoked your engine, and it's junk. When the engine seized you either ruined the cylinder wall or rings, and compression in going past the rings ( Known as Blow Bye) thus causing too much pressure in the crankcase.....Need to see if the engine is rebuild-able by taking it apart and micing-out the cylinder......Tom
