I have a Honda Generator with a GX140 engine. How Is the carb held on? Also where is the vin number located?

I don't know about the vin number location but it's probably in your owners manual.  If you want to view your manual it could be found by spending some time on the Honda website.  You'll need to remove the calling on the generator to get at the engine parts remove the air filter assembly completely and you will see the bolts that retain the carburetor.  Hope this information will help you out
