Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Honda Generator, stator windings, field windings
QuestionHello John,
I have a honda em1800 model# ezck-1013235. The engine works great but the generator portion does not. I am not getting any a.c. or d.c. voltage from it. I had the AVR checked out and it is good. I ohmed out the field windings on the rotor and the stator windings. There is continuity on both about 2 ohms. Is there a better way to check? I think the problem is from the AVR to the excition coil. There are three terminals I am guessing are for that. The wires are fine but there is no voltage going to that winding when the generator is running. Any ideas on what to do would be great. THANK YOU!
AnswerHello Jeff:
You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower/Engine at this Site Addy, http://hayward.arinet.com/scripts/EmpartISAPI.dll?MF&app=ASP&lang=EN&TF=Mainfram... and Select the Catalog American Honda. You are Correct in the Manner in Which you Tested the Generator Components. However, the OHMs should have Been Nearer to 4 or 5 Not 2. That is where you Problem is. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.
Good Luck
