Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): not firing, troy built tiller, kohler engine
QuestionMy troy built tiller has a 7hp kohler engine that was running fine when i cut it off about 6 or 8 weeks ago now it will not fire, I have already sanded fly wheel and magneto, also took ground wire off, this is a k161t engine, the replacement magnetos i have found online are for about all models except the k161 they show these has having points and mine doesnt. what should i do? does the one for the other models work? PLEASE HELP ME.
AnswerHello Talmadge:
Can you Send me the Service Numbers Off this Engine, Please. Example: K161-XXXXX. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. However, Some of these Engines had the Point Set Removed and Replaced with a Solid State Ign Coil. Usually the Point Set is Located Under a Metal Cover on the Outside of the Engine Not Under the Flywheel as Most Point Sets were Located. The Service Numbers will Help me Assist you in Locating an Ign Coil or Other Parts and Information. Thanks.
