QuestionQUESTION: my engine will only run with the chock at 1/2 to 3/4 on, seems to be starving for gas! I cleaned out the carb the best I know how but feel as though I am missing something! any ideas to look for? Thanks for your input, Steve.
ANSWER: Did you remove, dis-assemble and clean the carb with compressed air from an air compressor?
A clogged high speed carburetor jet is probably the problem. Send me the engine model, type and code nubmer and I can look up your carburetor.

QUESTION: Hello Eric, The model#303442, Type#1429-E1, Code#04032511 This Engine is only about 3-4 years old and is used only in the fall on a leaf truck loader, I did find grit etc. in the bowl and used compressed air to clean out what I could. I don't know if I did it correctly but it seems to be starving for gas at high rpm's. Thanks again for your time and help, Steve.
AnswerYour carb shows a high speed jet on the side of the carburetor bowl. Is the hole in the jet clean? You can use a small piece of wire to make sure the main jet hole is clean. I use a piece of automotive braided wire, just scrip an inch or two of insulation off the wire and then use one of the small copper strands as a cleaner. You should be able to remove the jet without removing the carburetor.
