Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Briggs 18.5 oil pump, appropriate boxes, oil pump
Question
Briggs 18.5HP Oil Pump
Model 42A707 Type 2653 Date Code 9804135A When I go to the Briggs web page the oil pump listed and pictured in the parts dwg does not match mine. I have attached a picture of the actual part. Can you provide the correct part number. There are two plastic gear/impellers mounted on a bracket that is a complete assembly.
AnswerHello Marvin:
The Part Shown in the Picture is the Oil Slinger, Not the Oil Pump. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Engine at this Site Addy; http://www.briggsandstratton.com/maint_repair/manual_and_more/doclist.aspx?categ... and Enter the Model Numbers (XXXXXX) and the First 4 Type Numbers (XXXX) in the Appropriate Boxes and Click GO. Then Select Download PDF. The Oil Pump for this Engine is Shown on Page 5 of 18 and is Breakdown #1024. The Oil Slinger (Part Number 691964) is on Page 3 of 18 and is Breakdown #47. The Governor is Shown on Page 5 of 18 and is Breakdown #219. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.
Good Luck
