Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Small engine company going under?, roomer, that fits your needs

I intend to by a Toro Power Clear 38586 with a Tecumseh 5.5 hp L-Head 4-Cycle engine.  I heard a rumor that a major small engine manufacture was going under and that I ought to be careful not to buy that engine.  Have you heard about this?  Would this have an effect on my intended purchase?

That has been a roomer for at least 5 years.  The thing about Toro is they will stand behind the product pretty good.  I have seen them give away a new machine because parts were not available.  The parts business for Tecumseh is so huge that someone will take it over just for the parts. I think you are OK.  Look at the value.  Are you getting a machine that fits your needs at a fair price or better.  If that is yes with a excuse and no with a Briggs or other engine then buy it.
