Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): honda generator, doityourself com, honda generator

QUESTION: have honda ex 1000 generator. overode the governor by hand to start a small air compressor  "stupid" generator lost electric power immediately. i have schematic and an ohm meter could you tell me what procedure i would use to test the possible fault? hope it's not the windings? thanks scott

ANSWER: Did you reset the circuit breaker?

Do you have a multimeter to check for continuity across the circuit breaker?
