Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Briggs carb, circuit paths, david hope
Question
carb
David,,hope you can help. This is a Briggs engine 10A902.I replaced the gasket and the diaphragm and pulled the jet out and cleaned the whole carb. Starts on one or two pulls and runs great. My problem is when I press the red primer plunger it will not squirt gas out of the little nossel. Know when I stick my finger down the throat and cover a little bit of the small nossel and press the plunger a few times I can feel the gas enter the rubber plunger and it will start to squirt the gas. Have you seen this problem?? Do I need a new O ring and rubber pumper or what?? I have taken this carb on and off a bunch and cleaned through it several times.
Thanks for your help
Answer
Have you checked, and cleaned the pick-u tube screen very well, as well as the metal main jet screen on the carb, located on the bottom? As well as blew carb cleaner in all the circuit paths, and made sure it came out at the other end? Could very well be the primer bulb itself. Tom
