Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 322 front pto clutch adjustment, john deere 322, gap spring
QuestionBen, Based on your reply's this should be a chip shot: John Deere 322 engine model 3tg66uc 3 Cyl Yanmar What is the correct procedure for setting the clearance when installing a new front PTO clutch (air gap/spring coil compression/feel??) Thx in advance
AnswerBen shifted this question to the question pool, and I picked it up. When I adjust them I tighten them just to the point of not free wheeling any more, then I back it off just to the point of not dragging. This has always worked for me as a good adjustment in the past. If I was to guess on the air gap I would say about .010.....Tom
PS. Please don't hit me on the rating because you have waiting on a reply for 2 days as I mention this question was put by Ben into the question pool, and I went it and answered it to help you.....
