Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Kohler 17.5 hp running hard in john deere L110 rider, john deere l110, flywheel

Is there any way to adjust the advance before tdc?  It appears there is a magneto pickup that is fixed and the magnet on the flywheel appears fixed.  I cannot tell if it is just missing sometimes and I should replace the magneto or if there is a way to bring make the spark happen a bit earlier before TDC.

No this timing system is a fixed system. It never needs adjusting. If you give me more detailed information on what it is doing, along with a model and engine type number, perhaps I can help you with the problem.......Tom
