Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): briggs and stratton 20hp, crankcase oil, briggs and stratton

mower would not start took carb. cover off is blowing gas mixed with oil back up thru carb put booster cables on got it cranked ran 5,6 sec. smoked very bad  blew oil gas mixter out of carb. on to mower then died repeated 3 times then i stopped trying how is oil getting  in carb?

Sorry for the Delay. This Question was Located in the Question Pool. From your Description it Sounds like the Carburetor Float Needle Valve May Not be Seating Properly and has Flooded the Crankcase with Oil, the OHV (if this engine has OHV) Valve Clearance Requires Setting or The Crankcase Vent Requires Cleaning or Replacing. Does the Crankcase Oil Smell like Gas? Thanks.
