Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): B&S electric starter problems, starter problems, appropriate boxes
QuestionHello, I have a B&S mower w/electric start 127606-0249-E1-050329FB. 3 yrs old. Has worked fine until a month ago. Turn the key and starter just makes noise. No turning over of the engine. Do I need a new starter? Would rather not resort to pull starting due to bad shoulders. Thanks for your help.
AnswerHello Ed:
From your Description it Sounds like the Starter Drive Gear May have Broken. Usually the Gear will Crack or the Center Grooves of the Gear Strip Out and the Gear cannot Lift Up to Engage the Flywheel. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Engine at this Site Addy; http://www.briggsandstratton.com/maint_repair/manual_and_more/doclist.aspx?categ... and Enter the Model Numbers (127606) and Type Numbers (0249) in the Appropriate Boxes and Click GO. Then Select Download PDF. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.
Good Luck
