QuestionHi, I am having an intermittent problem with a GXV610. Sometimes when
trying to start it gets no spark to either plug(pulled plug wires and tested).. I
have tried to disconnect the wire that leaves the stop diode from each coil
with no luck. The engine has never just stopped from a running condition.
Air gap checked out ok on each coil. Sometimes when it finally fires up it will
only run on one cylinder for about 5 seconds then both will come alive.
AnswerHello Craig:
From your Description it Sounds like the Coil or the Stop Diode is Causing the Problem. Usually for this Problem the Stop Diode is the Cause, but there have been a Few Occasions Lately where the Coil has Caused this Problem. I Suggest you have the Coil Tested. If the Coil Test Good, then the Stop Diode is the Cause. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower/Engine at this Site Addy, http://hayward.arinet.com/scripts/EmpartISAPI.dll?MF&app=ASP&lang=EN&TF=Mainfram... and Select the Catalog American Honda. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.
Good Luck
