QUESTION: 1994 murray riding mower 14 hp model 287707 type 0225- 01 bad motor- newer 2004 craftsman motor 17.5hp model 31C707 type0230E1 mower plug wires blue yellow black white new motor plug org. red gray black do not know how to wire plugs togather  thank for any help phillip

Wire Colors Do Not Help Much for the Engines. Send me the Model Numbers Off the Mower, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. Thanks.

If Both Engine have 4 Wires, then the Color Codes Do Not Matter. Connect the Wires to the New Engine the Same as they were Connected to the Old Engine and they Should be Correct. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Unit at this Site Addy; http://www.briggsandstratton.com/maint_repair/manual_and_more/doclist.aspx?categ and Enter the Model Numbers (XXXXXX) and Type Numbers (XXXX) in the Appropriate Boxes and Click GO.
