Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Golden Boy Edger, briggs stratton engine, briggs stratton

QUESTION: I just acquired an old (it looks like an old B&S to me) "Golden Boy" edger.Briggs & Stratton engine model KS-71 or KS-7I. It says "Easy Spin Starting" on it and has a 2 HP engine.  Anything you could tell me about this would be great.  Thanks.

ANSWER: Hello Donny:

Send me the Model and Type or Spec Numbers Off the Engine, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. The Model Numbers are Stamped Into the Blower Housing (metal engine cover) Above the Spark Plug. The KS-71 is the Series Model. Thanks.

You can View a Breakdown/IPL of this Engine at this Site Addy, http://www.smallenginepartswarehouse.com/parts.asp and Select the Shop Online Parts Look Up. Then Select the Model Tab. Then Select the OEM and Enter the Model (5 or 6 Digits) and Type Numbers (first 4 digits Only). Example: 60102-0260. Then Double Click on the Model in the Results Area. Now you can Select the Section of the Engine you Wish to View. I will Research this Unit and See if I can Locate Any Other Information for you.
