Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): HS40 engine on Ariens Snow Blower, tillotson carburetor, number thanks

Question
I am looking for a carburetor for my snowblower engine.

Model HS40 Spec 55232A
Serial 8339
Additional stamped number  12444

Engine runs if I pour gas into carb.

Bowl was full of sediment, float is rusted out.  Gas does not flow into bowl at this point.

If I can't find a carb, what could I use for a replacement engine?

Hello Dave:

I Will Follow up with you on 3/12/08. I Need to Contact Tillotson Carburetor and See if there is a Replacement. Usually there is a Replacement Carburetor for the Older Engines and ONLY by Contacting the OEM can you Locate a Replacement Part Number. Thanks.

I Located the Information for a Replacement Carburetor. Go to your Local Tecumseh Dealer and Request a Service Carburetor for your Engine. As for the Replacement Engine; I will Follow Up on 03/12/08. Thanks.
