Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): small engine repair, small engine mechanic, mail addy
QuestionDear Sir:
My name is Roger Donohoo. I am considering investing in a small engine sales and service business in Central Illinois. My question is: where should I look for a well-qualified mechanic/manager for this business? Tech schools? Major manufacturers? Where would you recommend that I begin? There is a definite need for this business in the town I live in.
Thanks,
Roger Donohoo
AnswerHello Roger:
The Manufacturers will be of No Help. Some Tech Schools Offer the Small Engine Course. I suggest you Contact the Nearest Tech School or Run an Add in you Local Newspaper and Take Applications. If you Send me this Question as Private and with a Private E-Mail Addy, I will be Glad to Send you my MSN Addy and then Discuss the Tests that I Give to All Personnel before I Hire them. The Test Involve Actually Doing Certain Repairs and Diagnostics on Small Engines and there is a Certain Amount of Time the Mechanic should be Able to Do the Diagnostic and the Actual Repairs. There are Certain Diagnostic Steps that a Small Engine Mechanic will Know to Follow to Determine the Cause of a Problem with the Engine or Mower Itself. Also, the Mechanics Need to be Able to Read Diagrams and Schematics. If you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Thanks.
Good Luck
