Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): White Foam in John Deere L120 Engine Oil, john deere l120, crank case
Question
White foam Deere Dipst
Hello-
I have a 2003 JD L120 lawn mower. It has a B&S Intek 20Hp engine. I have been using it this winter for snowblowing. When I check the oil I see white foam on dipstick. I changed the Oil, and now it's back again. Last time I ran the engine I was getting some sputtering. Any Idea how water I assume is getting into the crank case?
Thanks,
Steve
AnswerWhat weight of oil are you using? Is the air filter in the engine? Are there any o-rings on the dipstick or dipstick tube?
This is the first time I have heard of this problem. It may be condensation but that is a lot of moisture. Check to see if the o-rings are sealing.
Let me know what you find. Again what oil are you using?
