Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): tecumseh, coleman powermate, broken wires

I have a coleman powermate with a tecuseh engine on it and it is not firing i have replaced the spark plug but the plug has no spark

Tecumseh recommends the following basic checks before doing more sophisticated ones:
1.  Check if the battery is defective or not charged
2. Corroded loose terminal - connections, or wrongly connected
3.  Cracked insulation or any broken wires
4.  Switch defect
5.. A wire might be "grounded out" in the system

After these all check out okay, get back to me.
