Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 8 hp Briggs & Stratton, briggs and stratton, briggs stratton

I just received an early to mid 80's john deere 108 lawn mower with an 8 hp Briggs and Stratton engine.  All the wiring was missing.  It has points and it is running now.

First question:  Where does the kill switch hook in?
Second Question: The stator has one wire coming off of it.  Where should I hook this so my battery will charge?  There is a two wire box mounted under the starter solenoid that is not hooked to anything.  Just wondering if this was some sort of a rectifier or fuse.

I will need the mod # spec or code # and serial # before I can tell you what to do. Usually the kill switch wires comes off the coil and to a key switch then to ground.the box you may be talking about is probably the battery charging rectifier.
