Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): SNAPER RIDING MOWER WITH TECHUMSAH MOTOR, bolt torque, tecumseh engines

ERIC  -- I HAVE A OLDER SNAPER RIDING MOWER THAT HAS A 8 HP TECHUMSAH XL MOTOR. ITS BEEN RUNNING FINE UP UNTIL LAST WEEK WHEN IT JUST STOPPED AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES. I CHECKED THE SPARK PLUG AND IT HAD A ARCK. I CHECKED THE FUEL FILTER AND IT HAD FLOW GOING THRU IT. BUT IT JUST WON'T FIRE. ANY IDEAS.

What is the mower model number, off the sticker on the mower, and the engine model, code and spec number on the engine sticker?

Have you checked the head bolt torque?  I have found several older Tecumseh engines where the head bolts were loose causing a compression leak.
