Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): B&S 20HP No Charge,Run Follow-up, mechanical problems, voltage regulator

Hi John,

Replaced the flywheel key and she runs like a champ. A bit lean but easily adjusted.

With regards to the regulator, here are what my tests show:
1) Engine idling w/o regulator = 9-10VAC
2) Engine 1/2 speed w/o regulator = 13.5VAC
3) Engine w/ regulator at idle = 4.2-6VDC
4) Engine 1/2 speed w/regulator = same and only 12.2 at battery (fully charged battery)

So I will be replacing the voltage regulator as soon as one arrives. I went to a local lawn mower shop and they wanted $82 for one! I will find one online cheaper.
