Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Kawasaki 5hp running rough, john deere self, self propelled lawn mower
QuestionI have a John Deere (Self propelled) Lawn mower with a 5hp Kawasaki on it. The motor idles perfect but if I give it any gas at all, it back fires, pops and it surges really bad. But if I bring the throttle back to an idle everything sounds great????? Any thoughts?
AnswerHello Lance:
A Damaged Flywheel Key or the Valve Adjustments are the Usual Causes for this Problem. The Carburetor can Also CAause this, but Not as Often. Send me the Model and Type or Spec Numbers Off the Engine, Please. With these I can Locate the Proper Manual and Better Assist you. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.
Good Luck
