Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): SNAPPER DRIVE DISC, model numbers, snapper

I HAVE AN OLDER SNAPPER 12 HP RIDER.  I REPLACED THE DRIVE DISC AND THE SPACER. IT RUNS GREAT IN REVERSE BUT CAN ONLY COAX A VERY LOW SPEED IF I PLAY WITH IT IN FORWARD. IS THERE AN ADJUSTMENT ANYWHERE I CAN MAKE. THE PLATE LOOKS OK, NOT PERFECT BUT USABLE. I'VE LOOKED THE THING OVER AND JUST DON'T SEE IT. APPRECIATE ANY HELP...
