Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Repeated Push Mower Failures, briggs and stratton, question pool
QuestionI had a push mower go bad on me after 7 years, which I thought was rather quick compared with past mowers. It was a cheap mower with a Briggs and Stratton engine. The symptoms were speed hunting, loss of power, and burning excessive amounts of gas. I decided to give it away since it wasn't worth repairing. I bought a new, inexpensive Briggs and Stratton Poulan mower...and within 2 uses, the same thing seems to be happening! I am dumbfounded, and can only expect that it is bad gas. But the gas came from 2 different cans, albeit the same gas station. What is going on?
AnswerHello Jeff:
Sorry for the Delay. This Question was Located in the Question Pool. From your Description, it Sounds like the Gas is Contaminated. Change Gas Stations. Get a Gas Can that has the Screen or Foam Filled Nozzel that Filters the Gas when Poured from the Can. The Situation you Described is Highly Unusal. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.
Good Luck
