QuestionThis mower is 6-7 years old and now I have lost most of the forward speed. Going up hills is even worse. I think I need to make an adjustment to the transmission, but not sure how to do this. Thanks, Dave
AnswerSorry Dave, Your hydro trans is toast.
No beating around the bush here. If the belt is tight, your'e done. There is no "adjustment". You are expereincing a rule of life the hard way. You got what you paid for. Terminal. Sorry.
The good news is this mower is built to last 5 years mowing 1 acre or less. You got 1-2 years longer than the design intended.
There is not a mower on the market designed to last more than 5 years priced under 3,000.00. Fact!!!
You have 2 choices now. Spend 3 grand once, or, 2,000.00 ever 6 years. A 3,000.00 mower you can hand down to your grandkids. Spend 2,000.00 every 5 years and you will have an excellent selection of boat anchors.
