QuestionQUESTION: I have an Ariens walk behind mower w/power drive wheels. This afternoon in the middle of mowing the yard, the rear wheels locked. When I take the rear wheels off the ground and turn them manually, they turn in the opposite direction--ie: I spin the left rear wheel forward, and the left rear turns backward, and vice versa. When I have it on the ground and try to move forward or backward, either under engine power or manually, the wheels lock, fighting against each other. Any advice or assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks

QUESTION: 911044 is the model #. Thanks.
AnswerHello Norm:
From Looking at the Motion Drive Breakdown and from your Description, it Sounds like the Differential is Lock Up. You can View a Breakdown of the Mower at this Site Addy; http://www.jackssmallengines.net/parts.asp and Select Shop Online Parts Look Up. The Select the Model Tab. Then Select the OEM (Ariens) and Enter the Model Numbers. Then Double Click on the Model in the Results Area. Select the Friction Wheel Drive File. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.
Good Luck
