Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Tanaka 1.2 outboard, recoil spring, center bolt

Good day Paul,I need to install a new recoil spring in my outboard.What would you suggest to be the best way to install it without it coming apart.Thank you,Mario.

Answer
Remove the center bolt/nut whatever that holds the spool into the starter assy.
Now drop the whole thing on the floor and the old spring will fly out.  The new spring will be in some type of a retaining ring.  Lay the ring into the starter housing and push the new spring out of the retainer.
