Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Honda HRB215, crankcase breather, ring gasket
QuestionI have had this mower for at least 10 years. It has just started blowing oil out of the bottom of the oil filler neck. I'm wondering if I just got too much oil in or is there an "O" ring / gasket gone bad? The oil also seems hot and thin. The mower runs normal. Thanks for any help.
AnswerHello Bill:
You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Mower at this Site Addy, http://hayward.arinet.com/scripts/EmpartISAPI.dll?MF&app=ASP&lang=EN&TF=Mainfram... and Select the Catalog American Honda. Then Select Lawn Mower. Then Scroll Down to your Model and Select it. Then Select the Cylinder Barrel File. The O-Ring for the Oil Fill Tube is Breakdown #'s 30 and 31. Check the Oil for Gas Smell. Make Sure the Engine is Not Overfilled. The Crankcase Breather May Be Clogged and Require Cleaning. These are Breakdown #'s 5 thru 8. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.
Good Luck
