Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): briggs & stratton model 31h777 0210, briggs stratton, vacum pump
QuestionHello, I have a newer replacement engine for my sears riding mower i have got it all installed but my gas tank is in the rear under the seat. the engine doesnt come with a fuel pump but it has a place for one i bought a vacum pump but i dont know where to get the vacum from. i under stand the in and out on the pump. I took the engine cover off looking for a vacum port and cannot find one. I also looked all around the intake not one there. the only think i can find is the block breather. can you assit me in hooking this up to make it work. thanks so much
AnswerDid the old engine have a fuel pump? Fuel pumps were only offered on 31H777 with type numbers 0110, 0113, 0115,
0117, 0118, 0120. These engines had a nipple drilled in the engine block to provide vacuum to operate the fuel pump.
I am assuming there is no nipple or hole drilled in you block to accept a nipple. Is this correct?
