Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Replace Primer Bulb, briggs stratton engine, briggs stratton

I need to replace the Primer Bulb on my 20" Murray Power Mower with a 3.5 h.p. Briggs & Stratton Engine.

A B&S repair shop charged me $40 to replace one just 2 years ago. As I am on Social Security I would appreciate your help in telling me how I might replace it myself.

Dig the old one out with a screw driver and put in a new one.

The reason he charged 40.00 the last time is because he had to clean the carb also.

You probably need a carb clean again.  The primer is jacking up because you are leaving the fuel in the mower over the winter.

At the end of the year you need to buy a product called "Stabil"  if you use this in your last couple of gallons of fuel you won't have this problem again.
