QuestionI have an old Ariens Emperor with a Tecumseh V60. The engine needs to be replaced. I wonder if you might advise me
as to what engine might be used as a sub. I am willing to do
a little customizing if necessary, though I don't have machine shop capabilities.
It was my understanding that the Ariens used the same "disc" transmission as the Snapper. Do you know if that is so? If so, could an engine built for a Snapper be used?
Many thanks for your help!
Sincerely, Frank Pfeiffer
AnswerHello Frank:
The Ariens Does have the Same Disc Drive as the Snapper. I Looked at the Breakdown/IPL and this Looks to be a 6 HP Engine. You can Replace this with a Briggs & Stratton, Kohler, Honda and Oh Yes a Kawaski Engine. Simply Make Sure the Crankshaft Length and Diameter are the Same as the Old Engine. The Bolt Pattern should be the Same. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.
Good Luck
Respectfully
John
