Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Sears Chipper/Shredder, fuel delivery system, chipper shredder

Question
I have a 6.5 hp sears chipper shredder, engine model # is 143986501 and it will not start. If you spray engine starter fluid into the carb it will start for a few seconds then die out. I am guessing something with the fuel delivery system is clogged. Any suggestions on what to replace or try?

Hello Mike:

Check and Make Sure you have Gas Free Flowing to the Carburetor Inlet Port. If it is, then Remove, Disassemble and Soak Overnight in Carburetor Cleaner (I Use Gunk). Then Blow Out the Passages with Compressed Air and Install a New Kit if Required. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.
