Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Murry model 42569x4a, transaxel, input shaft

Question
It is hydrostatic.  When I was mowing the tires locked up and the belt smoked.  If I pushed the disconnect lever so that the transmission was not engaged (the lever under the seat) I can push the mower but the pulley into the transaxel can not be turned.

Is the transaxel dead.
