Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Gas / Oil Mix, weed eater, cycle oil
QuestionQUESTION: I just purchased a weed eater that requires a gasoline/oil mix of 40:1. They supplied the oil that I was supposed to mix with 1 gallon of gasoline. I mistakenly dumped it into my 2 gallon gas can that I use for my craftsman (gasoline only)lawn mower. So what I left myself with is gas that is right for neither my mower or my weed eater. My question is: can I use this mix in my lawnmower? Will it damage it?
ANSWER: Hello Paul:
Other than Possibly Clogging the Muffler and Some Smoking During Operation, the 2 Cycle Oil in 2 Gallons of Gas will Not Harm the 4 Cycle Engine. I Use a 32 to 1 Oil Ratio that the Engines Required in the Past. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let Me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.

QUESTION: Thanks, John.
Also, given that it a 2 gallon supply that will likely last half of the summer, do you recommend an additive to prevent the gas from breaking down?
AnswerHello Again Paul:
I Use Sta-Bil in All my 2 Cycle Gas and Any Gas I Suspect Might Not be Used Up in a Month. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let Me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.
