Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Flooding, briggs and stratton, hp briggs
QuestionSix year old rider, 20 HP Briggs model 461707 - oposing twin. Fuel more or less pours out of top "spout" in carb when cranking to start. Floods engine instantly. What to do? Thanks for your time.
AnswerHello Gary:
Remove, Disassemble and Soak the Carburetor Overnight in Carburetor Cleaner (I use Gunk). Then Blow out the Passages with Compressed Air and Install New Kit. You can View a Breakdown/IPL of the Engine at this Site Addy, http://www.outdoordistributors.com/ and Select the B. Then Select Briggs and Stratton. Then Select Don't have Part Numbers. Then Select the File #46. Then Select the Folder #461700. The Carburetor Float is Stuck Open and Allowing the Engine to Flood. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let Me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.
Good Luck
