Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Craftsman Mower, craftsman, model number

Question
I Have a 10h.p. 30" Craftsman riding mower Model Number 536270112 At the end of last summer I broke the spring (Diagram #61) that holds tension on the drive belt (Diagram #54)
so this year I have to replace both the spring and belt but I really don't know where the spring hooks to the frame. could you help?

Hello Bryce:

Hook the Spring to the Clutch Idler Bracket and then Using the Spring as a Gage, Look for a Slot that should be About 1" to 2" From the End of the Spring. The Spring Should Pull the Idler Pully Tight Against the Belt. Hope this Helps. I am Here if You Require More Assistance. Let Me Know What Happens, Please. Thanks.
