Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Lawnboy blade removal, daniel dawson, bolt nut
QuestionDear Mr. Bridgers
I tried to remove the blade from my Grandmothers older Lawn boy push mower. Every body told me it had left had threads. Is this correct? Well anyway I broke the bolt off trying to loosen it! The blade was bent and nicked pretty bad. So it had to come off. I'm going tomorrow to just buy her a new mower I just wanted to know if they do have left or right hand threads? Just to know, how much would it cost to replace the shaft on the lawn boy?
Thank you so much for your time.

AnswerHello Dan:
Some Engines Run in a Clockwise Rotation and a Few Run Counter Clockwise Rotation. A Good Rule of Thumb Lawnmower Blade Nuts/Bolts. To Determine the Direction a Nut/Bolt is Loosened, ALWAYS REMEMBER the Bolt/Nut will Loosen by Turning the Bolt/Nut the Opposite Direction the Shaft Turns During the Engine Operation. If the Shaft Turns Clockwise Rotation During Operation, then the Nut/Bolt Turns Counter Clockwise, ect. The Crankshaft Replacement Cost Vary from Location to Location. I Usually Charge $75.00 Labor Plus the Cost of the Crankshaft and Gaskets. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.
Good Luck
