QuestionSteering is starting to lock up and it appears that the bushing on the center shaft section needs to be replaced. My question is how do I get this bushing and shaft out?
AnswerRemove the steering wheel and all the steering parts will drop out the bottom.
FYI this is a common problem, after several comebacks in my shop I have learned the hard way that you can't just replace the bushings.
Replace the following parts or you will have to do this job again next year.
These are all Deere numbers and Deere's list price. Expect to pay slightly more but not more than 5% more. If your dealer hikes the price more than that go to Reynoldsll.com and buy the parts there. Then find a reputible dealer.
