Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): 8 hp Snowblower not priming, starter fluid, snowblower

Hi John:
I've been reading through responses and can;t seem to find my situation.  The primer doesn't seem to be working on my 15 year old snowblower - just sounds like I'm getting air.  Starts when I spray starter fluid in the carb, but dies within seconds.  I think I cleared the fuel lines... could it be the carb?
