Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): i need to know which way the piston goes in., briggs and stratton, merry christmas and happy new year

i have a rider with a briggs and stratton 16 twin cylinder industrial engine, model number= 402707,  i am rebuilding the engine right now and my markings that i put on the pistons  wore off, so i dont know what way the little dash/arrow points to.  exhaust side or intake side?  thanks

 Are the Connecting Rods Marked. Look on the Flat Sides of the Connecting Rods. Are they Marked 1 & 2? What Marking are on the Connecting Rods and the Pistons. Are the Piston Tops Marked with a Dash or an Arrow? Ant Information you can Give me About Markings on the Piston and Connecting Rods will be Helpful. The Pistons are Designed for a Certain Cylinder and we need to get that Straghtened out first. Thanks. Be Safe.
