Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): craftsman lawn tractor, craftsman lawn tractor, lithium grease
QuestionHi John,
I have a 22 horsepower craftsman lawn tractor with a kohler engine and a 50" deck. It mowed great all summer long, although once I had a problem with the clutch not engaging, but I tried it a few days later and had no problems. It is getting colder now and I tried it again and am having the same problem. I let up off the clutchrake pedal and it acts like it is in neutral, the engine works fine but the tractor barely wants to creep forward. I jiggled the clutch and it tries to engage a little more but is not working. Could you give any suggestions? Thanks- Jake
Answer Hello Jake:
The Linkage May be Binding. The Belt May need Replacing. I Suggest you Remove the Deck and have Someone Move the Clutch/Brake lever Slowly while you Watch the Linkage Move. Do this with the Engine Off and Please Wear Safety Glasses. Lubricate ALL the Motion Pivot Points with the Spray Molly or Lithium Grease. Send me the Model Numbers Off the Mower, Please. With these I can Locate a Breakdown/IPL and Better Assist you. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks. Be Safe.
Good Luck
Respectfully
John
