Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Wolseley Merry tiller Rotorvator, cast iron block, merry tiller
QuestionHello John
I have this old rotorvator its probably from around the sixty's. It has the following numbers stamped on a tag fitted to the frame, (Pat No 714394 and Ser No P19005). The engine looks like it is a cast iron block which splits near the bottom with an alloy head, it has no name or making on the engine whatsoever, apart from a number which runs down the dip stick (900 0338 004). I think the original colour was either Red or yellow (its been painted in the past)unfortunately
Is there any way I can find out more about the engine, it needs the valves doing or may be more, but I'm not sure whether I will be able to get a new head gasket the rest of the gaskets I can make. but as I said there is nothing on the engine to identify what make or model it is. Can you help or redirect me at all.
Regards
David
Answer Hello David:
If this is an Older Model Engine, then Look on the Blower Housing(metal engine cover) Above the Spark Plug or Above the Muffler. The Model Numbers were Usually Stamped Into the Housing. This is the Same for Briggs or Tecumseh Engines. Send me the Model Numbers, Please. With these I can Locate a Breakdown/IPL of the Engine for you to View Online. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.
Good Luck
