Questionhello can't find out what wrong with this honda engine. starts fine, idles fine, mid throttle all fine, full throttle engine back fires and revs up and down. checked valves, govenor adjustments, changed fuel, even replaced carb. with known good carb. replaced spark plug, cleaned coil contacts, and fly wheel. nothing even helped a little. please help!

If All the Things you Described are Good, then Check the Flywheel Key. If the Key is Good, then the Timing Belt Inside the Engine has Most likely Jumped A tooth and the Engine is Out of Time Just Enough to Cause the Problem you Described. Hope this Helps.
