Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): briggs motor karcher power washer, karcher power washer, brigg stratton
QuestionI have a Karcher power washer the mottor is brigg stratton quattro 4 hp motor. My engine runs hot I will power wash with it maybe 20 minutes and it will get sizzling hot then shut off. I will let it cool for a day and it will start up and then it will run again for maybe 20 minutes and do the same exact thing. any ideas what is wrong. thanks you
Answer Hello Quentin:
Is the High Air Mixture too Lean. Turn the High Air/Fuel Mixture Screw Counter Clockwise 1/4 Turn. If this Doent Help with the Engine Running Cooler, then Do the Following. 1- Check Under the Blower Housing and Ensure the Fins on the Flywheel are Clean and Not Blocked. Make Sure the Area Under the Blower Housing is Clean and Air can Circulate. 2- Remove the Flywheel and Check for a Damaged Flywheel Key. 3- Remove the Muffler and Inspect the Exhaust Port and Muffler for Blockage. The Coil/Ignition Module/Igniter May be Damaged Due to the High Heat. When you get the Cooling Problem Solved and the Engine Runs for 15 to 20 Minutes and Quits, then the Coil/Ignition Module/Igniter is Bad. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks.
Good Luck
