Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): Transmission/ shifting, belt transmission, 5th gear
QuestionI have a Murray Riding mower, 5 speed,12/5 hp- 36" cut. When I have it in 5th gear, it doesn't go very fast. If I have to go up a small incline, it won't climb. It has no guts. I practily have to get off and push it up. How can I fix this?
Answer Hello Cheryl:
From your Description I Suggest Replacing the Motion Drive Belt(Transmission Drive). It sounds like the Belt has Stretched to the Limits the Engineers Designed the Linkage to Allow. If you wish to See a Breakdown of the Mower, Send me the Model Numbers Off of the Mower Tag. With these Numbers I May be Able to Locate a Breakdown for you to View Onine.Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. I enjoy knowing the Outcome. Thanks.
Good Luck
